Golden Glow Latte
There are many secrets to attaining that enviable external glow, and my unique Golden Glow Latte is just one of them ;) Within my circle of friends, I’m lovingly known as the “Turmeric Latte Queen” lol, simply because I tend to have at least one of these golden cups of goodness each day, and especially so during these cooler times of the year. In my role as the “Turmeric Latte Queen”… and Nutritionist (LOL) I’ve also taken to help some avid coffee-drinking aficionado’s turn from craving that hit of caffeine in their day to actually look forward to enjoying a “Golden glow latte” instead.
You may be wondering what is so good about a now seemingly overrated drink, and why I love them so much as to make it a part of my daily staple?
Benefits of Turmeric Latte
When we break it down into the ingredients used in my Golden Glow Turmeric Latte, you will understand why it can help you glow from the inside-out! Yes, a simple beverage with only a handful of simple, natural ingredients can actually add such benefits to your life when you enjoy it regularly.
Turmeric – the trending star of the drink, is well known as ‘nature’s gold’ due to its numerous amazing health benefits providing pharmaceutical-like anti-inflammatory benefits, high antioxidant properties, decreasing cancer risk, and support of detoxification. The active compound Curcumin found in turmeric provide these famous therapeutic benefits. Studies on turmeric intake now include its potential for improving cognitive function, blood sugar balance, and kidney function, as well as lessening the degree of severity associated with certain forms of arthritis and certain digestive disorders affecting the gallbladder, liver and gut (1).
By consuming a turmeric latte on a regular basis, you can reap the many health benefits of associated with regular consumption. Further scientific research confirms turmeric may help to support the following health concerns (2):
Inflammatory conditions (arthritis, asthma, eczema, inflammatory bowel disease)
Bacterial infections
Cancer (including breast, colon, prostate and skin cancer)
Heart disease
Indigestion
Neurodegenerative conditions (including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis)
Osteoarthritis
Stomach ulcers
Viral infections
I love that golden milk not only makes it easy to incorporate turmeric into your diet regularly, it’s also a deliciously warming and soothing drink. You can have a turmeric latte in between meals as a snack, or you can have it as a post-dinner dessert. The great thing about this latte recipe is that you won’t just gain the health benefits of turmeric alone, but the amazing additional therapeutic benefits of the accompanying essential ingredients as well:
The Other Special Ingredients:
Ginger– provides increased anti-inflammatory benefits, supports digestion, circulation and has been found to help reduce H. Pylori bacteria in the stomach
Cinnamon – Anti-microbial, that also helps to modulate blood glucose and insulin levels
Black pepper – Promotes circulation. When consumed together, pepper aids turmeric absorption.
Raw honey – Antioxidants, antimicrobial, antifungal, immune-boosting sweetness
Almond Milk – The all-important fat element provided by milk or plant-based milk promotes digestion and absorption of turmeric. It is recommended to always consume turmeric with a fat for this purpose.
Hydrolyzed Collagen - One of themost well-known benefitsof collagen is its ability to promote glowing, vibrant skin. This essential protein provides elasticity to the skin, helping it to appear more youthful and healthy.Collagen forms an integral part of our body’s connective tissues including that in our joints and even our intestines. It can help support and strengthen the joints and protective lining of your digestive tract in addition to helping your skin glow!
